1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Lake Gulf Holdings LLC, the operator of helpem (“helpem,” “we,” “us”), handles information when you use helpem.ai and related web/mobile web applications (the “Service”).

3. Information We Collect

• Account data from sign-in providers (Google or Apple), such as email and basic profile identifiers.
• Profile information you provide: display name, first name, last name, phone number, and date of birth. All non-name fields are optional.
• Profile photo, if you upload one.
• Operational app data needed to provide core features and a high-quality user experience (appointments, todos, routines, groceries, tribe memberships and messages).
• Web Push notification subscriptions and your personal notification preferences (timing windows, opt-in toggles).
• Calendar tokens from connected providers (Google, Apple), stored encrypted at rest.
• Technical/session data needed for security and operation (session tokens, basic device/browser metadata).
• Subscription and billing records required to process payments and maintain your plan status.

4. Voice and Transcript Handling

• We do not retain voice recordings.
• We do not retain voice transcripts as standalone records.
• If voice is used, processing is limited to what is operationally necessary to provide the feature and user experience.
• Voice audio is sent to ElevenLabs to transcribe what you say, and reply text is sent to ElevenLabs to generate spoken replies when voice replies are on.

5. How We Use Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Authenticate users and secure accounts.
• Process subscriptions and billing.
• Send service and account communications.
• Enforce terms, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

6. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not share user data for retargeting or advertising. We only disclose data to the service providers listed below as needed to operate the Service, or when required by law. These providers process data on our behalf to provide their services to us.

7. AI Processing

• Content you send to the helpem assistant or the in-app support chat (your messages, plus the context about your items needed to answer) is processed by Anthropic to generate replies.
• Voice audio is processed by ElevenLabs for transcription, and reply text is processed by ElevenLabs to generate speech.
• These providers process this content on our behalf to provide the Service. We do not sell your data.

8. Service Providers We Use

Anthropic

AI assistant and support chat: processes the messages you send and the item context needed to reply.

ElevenLabs

Voice: processes audio for transcription and generates spoken replies.

Vercel

Hosting for the helpem website and web app.

Railway

Hosting for the helpem API and database.

Google

Sign in with Google; optional Google Calendar sync if you connect it.

Apple

Sign in with Apple; optional iCloud Calendar sync if you connect it.

Stripe

Payment processing, when paid plans start.

9. Calendar Data and Google User Data

If you choose to connect a calendar, helpem syncs events in both directions between helpem and that calendar.

• Google Calendar. With your permission, helpem accesses the events on your Google Calendar (titles, times, durations, locations, and descriptions) and your Google account email address. We use this data only to show your events in helpem, keep them in sync in both directions, check for scheduling conflicts before adding an event, and send the reminders you ask for.
• Apple iCloud Calendar. If you connect it with an app-specific password, helpem uses the same event information for the same purposes. Your app-specific password is stored encrypted and used only to reach your calendar.
• When you ask the helpem assistant about your schedule, the relevant events are processed by Anthropic to generate the reply, as described in section 7. They are not used to train AI models.
• We do not sell calendar data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers needed to run helpem. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine learning models.
• You can disconnect a calendar at any time in the app. Disconnecting revokes helpem’s access and stops syncing; deleting your account deletes the stored calendar data and connection.

helpem’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

10. Payments

helpem is free during beta and we do not collect payments. When paid plans start, payments will be processed by Stripe. We do not store full card details.

11. Cookies and Analytics

We use only cookies/session technologies that are operationally necessary for login, security, and core functionality. We currently do not use retargeting pixels and do not run Google Analytics in the app.

12. Global Availability

The Service is offered worldwide. By using the Service, you understand your data may be processed in jurisdictions where our technical infrastructure operates, including the United States.

13. Retention and Deletion

We retain data only as long as operationally necessary, and as required for legal, security, or billing purposes.

You can delete your account at any time from Personal Settings → Danger zone → Delete my account in the app. This permanently removes your profile, your appointments, todos, routines, groceries, your owned tribes (with their members, events, and messages), your notification preferences, and any connected calendar tokens. Some records may be retained briefly as required by law (e.g., billing receipts).

14. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

15. Children

The Service is intended for users age 13 and older.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted with a revised effective date.
